The Quiet Man

An original US 1956 re-release Press Still for the 1952 classic featuring an iconic shot in the movie of John Wayne and Victor McLaglen. The movie was one of John Ford's all time favourite movies and won him an Academy Award for Best Director and Best Cinematography.

This original photograph or ‘publicity still’ was first issued to promote the film’s release. Captured on set during production, publicity stills were designed to be sent inside press kits to newspapers, magazines and cinemas.
